Well September was certainly a busy month and unfortunately not the tropical month we were promised. Sid and Wallace our green-keepers are doing a great job keeping us on the course and we thank them for all their hard work not only in the last month but over the entire season.

Silent Auction & Afternoon Tea

September started with this fun afternoon and we had a great turnout on one of the few sunny days when we were able to make full use of the decking and patio doors. £800 was raised for the club and a big thank you to the Ladies Section for their organisation in making this a successful fundraiser.

Gents Seniors Open Competition

Unfortunately we had to cancel this event due to the horrible weather conditions on the day. As it is so late in the season and the weather is not really improving we have decided to cancel this event this year.

Ladies Open Competition

Despite yet another wet day (slightly drier than the day of the Gents) we went ahead with this event and 44 ladies took part over a reduced 13 hole course. This year’s winners were visitors from Old Ranfury in Bridge of Weir. We had a visiting party of 14 from Old Ranfurly on the day and they all went home laden with either raffle prizes or winnings.

Joker Update

Game Three still running and the Joker jackpot has now reached £400. This is an excellent fundraiser for the club and well worth a £1 a go.

Club 200

Congratulations to our latest £100 winner J Pratt. Still time to get in on the action and purchase a number for the remaining draws. Cost is now £10 to enter for the remaining months.

9 Hole Medals

The next Sunday 9 hole medal will run on the 1st of October and will be over the “Flat Nine” course.

Raffle Prizes

Stocks are low – donations are urgently required. Please pass to a member of the social committee or leave behind the bar.

Hole In One

A very well done to Tommy Gibson who holed out at the 18th earlier in the month.

A big thank you to Ken Macleod for his continued sponsorship of this club event. Despite being down in numbers this year £1000 was handed over for club funds and a great day was had by all who attended even if we did get soaked again !!  Well done to Alex Sargent and Kevin McMunn the overall winners.

Sunday the 24th September – a fun day with a serious message. A horrible morning gave way to a drier afternoon for the few hours we were out. Thirty nine players took part and the eventual winners were Alex Sargent, Kenny Stewart & Sandy Redford. A big thank you to Donny & Sandra Campbell for arranging all the soup and sandwiches. To date we have raised £1,920 for the Breast Cancer Now charity.

Social Evening

Due to lack of ticket sales we have had to cancel September’s event.  Refunds are available at the bar or will roll over to the next event.
