To both old and new members we extend a warm welcome to the new season at Skelmorlie Golf Club.  The course has come through the winter relatively unscathed and Sid and Wallace, our greenkeepers, have been hard at work getting things ready for the new season.

Let’s hope that the weather starts to improve and we can all get on the course without the need for too many layers!

ANNUAL FEES

Thank you to all who have already paid their fees and we would be obliged if those who are still to organise this if they could do so as soon as possible.

ENCOURAGING NEW MEMBERS

As we start to approach the beginning of the new golfing season we are actively trying to encourage new members into the club.  We are offering an excellent first year joining offer of just £399 to anyone who becomes a member of the club.  Can we encourage all the existing members of the club to help us promote the club whenever they can and to help assist with that, there are small promotional posters and small information cards available in the clubhouse that members of the club can pass onto anyone interested, or indeed leave at their place of work or other suitable location.  Please also encourage anyone thinking about golf membership to take a look at the website where there is lots of additional information and photographs available, along with an online application service.  The future success of the club is very dependent on the size of the club membership and any help provided by existing members in growing the membership is hugely appreciated.

25th MARCH – SOCIAL EVENING

The Social Committee (headed by Tommy Campbell) have organised their first event of the year.  They have arranged a singer, Lynnie Carson, for the evening of the 25th March.  Tickets are £6 and available now in the clubhouse.  This is the first of a series of monthly events to be organised by Tommy and his team and we hope that these will all be well supported.  The intention is to have an event on the last Saturday of the month if possible and should you have an idea for one of these nights please do not hesitate to see Tommy.

RAFFLE PRIZES

Tommy is looking for raffle prizes with the intention of setting up a prize bank which they can draw from for any events requiring a raffle.  Should you have any odd bottles, boxes of chocolates or daft items of any sort please could you leave them in the clubhouse marked for his attention.

Best wishes for the new season and hope to see you on the course.
