Hole 8 - Boyd's Best - Par 3

”  Legendary post war greenkeeper Hugh Boyd rebuilt this green. “
Information

This follow up par three offers an interesting contrast to the previous hole, in that the initial tee area is quite closed in with trees and bushes, but with the hole then opening to a wide section of fairway leading up to the green.   There is a ditch beyond and left, and a bunker to the right of the green.

Again, the wind can be a factor on this hole, but the tee is sheltered by trees and so players may find it helpful to check the tree tops and the flag to gauge the wind strength and direction.

Pro’s Tip

Aim for the right half of the green regardless of the pin position on this testing uphill par 3 that can play a little longer than the yardage would suggest.
